Technical Description:
The Kansas City Chiefs Football Club and Jackson County Sports Authority were in need of an underground stormwater detention system for a new football training facility for the NFL Kansas City Chiefs Football team.
A unique system layout was needed in order to accomodate for storage requirements, available footprint and on-site rock excavation conditions.
An Aluminized Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) Detention System from Contech was chosen because of its variable sizing, material economy, quick installation and overall durability – all of which combine to make the system a very economical method for controlling stormwater runoff.
CMP Detention systems can be sized and shaped to meet most site-specific storage needs and the versatile CMP material provides almost limitless opportunities to match individual site requirements while lowering site development costs.
The project was completed within the required schedule, even while accommodating several layout modifications in order to avoid additional rock excavation. The Kansas City Chiefs Training Facility is currently hosting the workout facility as well as office staff.
