The developer had previously built out a residential project in Seagoville which had a lift station to send sanitary to. The lift station was owned and operated by the City of Seagoville. The City relies on Dallas Water Utilities to treat the sanitary at their WWTP facilities which is downstream of the City of Seagoville lift station. The developer purchased additional land to build 300 lots which was downstream of the existing Seagoville lift station, so they hired Corwin Engineers and their sub-consultant Perkins Environmental to design the new residential development called Highland Meadows. The need for the Duromaxx SSO tank arose due to DWU’s limiting the flow to 162 GPM due to one of their own lift stations being under capacity that the additional sanitary from the new development would be draining to. There was a need to detain the sanitary during peak flow conditions and the consultants worked with Contech to assist in the design of the Duromaxx SSO Tank. They elected to abandon the existing Seagoville lift station and build a new one downstream, next to the Duromaxx SSO tank which would be detaining the sanitary during peak discharge.

The tank was installed in one week and included fusion welded coupler joints to ensure a watertight system.
