Technical Description:
Whistling Valley is a distinctive master planned neighborhood offering single-family home sites nestled along the slopes of a beautiful valley in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, just east of the Twin Cities Metro area. The development consists of 93 acres of oak woodlands, rolling prairie, and the northern branch of Goose Lake. Thirty-two acres of the neighborhood are preserved as commonly held open space.
The contractor, Glenn Rehbein Companies, wanted two pedestrian bridges that would compliment the development’s beautiful country setting. Two Continental® truss structures were provided for Whistling Valley. Both are eight foot wide weathered steel Connector® bridges, with one 12 feet long and the other 42 feet long. To compliment the natural appearance of the weathering steel, Ipe hardwood decking was chosen for the deck surfaces.
