This Rails-to-Trails project was contracted by the Michigan Department of Transportation. The 160 foot CON/SPAN® structure replaced a box beam bridge, maintaining the existing trail without increasing snowmobile cross traffic or road surface wear.
The structure was placed on 3 foot high pedestal footings to provide clearance for the trail groomer. Precast headwalls were used, while wingwalls were cast-in-place due to height.
