Stanford University Golf Course has produced many influential golfers throughout the years including PGA Tour professional Tom Watson, Tiger Woods and Notah Begay III. Contech had the opportunity to provide two Continental® pedestrian truss bridges for the acclaimed course.

The civil engineers for the project were Power Engineering Contractors of Alameda California. They had utilized a Continental® bridge for Stanford’s golf course in 2004 and were very impressed with the quality. When it came time for another bridge project on the same golf course, Power Engineering Contractors didn’t hesitate to select a Continental® pedestrian truss bridge again.

The most recent bridge project was an 8’ x 125’ weathered steel structure placed over a ravine on the picturesque and challenging fourth hole. The bridge has a 2000-pound load rating and features skewed ends, a safety railing and a castin- place concrete deck.
