When Dallas Baptist University (DBU) added additional student housing on the East side of the campus, they wanted to transform the quality of residential life by making it possible for students to live with other students in the same major. During the expansion, a structure was needed to cross the creek separating the main campus from the eastern portion of the campus. DBU has an aesthetic vision for the campus and wanted to make sure the new structure matched the look and maintained the rich history of the university.

Walter P. Moore (WPM), the project's engineer, worked alongside the DBU's Vice President for Administrative Affairs to determined the best design for the new stream crossing. Since the vision was to replicate the John W. Weeks bridge located at Harvard University, WPM reached out to Contech Engineered Solutions for ideas. In the end, a 50' x 7' BEBO® Bridge Concrete Arch System, 42' in length, was selected as the best solution to bring the vision to life.

The BEBO arch was the perfect choice for our project at DBU," concluded Jonathan Teat, Vice President for Administration and Enrollment at DBU. "The bridge structure was based on the desired aesthetics and functionality to fit our project needs and continue the legacy of honoring the heritage of early-American Georgian architecture. The final result matched the vision with unparalleled precision. We are grateful for the comprehensive support from the Contech team and look forward to working together on future projects.”
