• 3-32' CON/SPAN® B-Series Bridge System
• 125' Steadfast® Vehicular Truss

In the largest joint CON/SPAN®/Steadfast® project to date, three 32-foot span CON/SPAN precast arch bridges were combined with a 125-foot long covered Steadfast steel truss vehicular bridge to span the Tellico River in East Tennessee. The truss bridge is positioned between two precast concrete arches, giving the entire structure a unique look.

Telliquah is a riverside resort alongside the Tellico River and surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. With development of the brand new residential community along the river, Telliquah needed a bridge to connect residents to a main artery highway. The structure needed to span the Tellico River without piers and accommodate vehicular, bike, golf cart and pedestrian traffic and loading.

“One of the first difficulties we faced was that a conventional bridge constructed either of concrete or steel alone simply would not work, so Contech Engineered Solutions came up with a truly innovative solution,” said Tom Cormier, entrepreneur and creative force behind Telliquah. “We believe this is the largest privately owned covered bridge in the state of Tennessee, and possibly in the United States.”
