Technical Description:
The Patchogue River Bridge is a CON/SPAN ® railway overpass that replaced a deteriorated wooden tressle railroad bridge at Patchogue Station. Due to the tight schedule for installation, the CON/SPAN precast structure provided the best solution in terms of initial cost, speed and ease of installation. The contractor was able to complete the removal of the existing bridge, the CON/SPAN installation and the restoration of the rail line within a two-day period.
