Technical Description:
This 42-foot span CON/SPAN® structure serves as an economic solution to an environmental issue. The bridge serves as the main entrance to an upscale development serving 110 homes.
The engineer contacted CSR Hydro Conduit with an inquiry to span a 12-foot creek. During an onsite meeting with the owner, engineer, general contractor and the environmental scientist, the need became apparent to span the entire wetlands. Suddenly, a 12-foot creek span became a 42-foot CON/SPAN®. To expedite the project, the footings were cast-in-place and the seven CON/SPAN® units were set in one day. The covered bridge is set within the picturesque snowcapped North Cascade Mountains.
