Taylor Morrison has been building homes since 1880 and has been recognized as America’s Most Trusted™ Home Builder for the last six years. While building homes in the new Ridgeline at Bethany community in Portland, Oregon, a bridge was needed to cross an unnamed tributary of Abbey Creek at the entrance. 

The steepness of the creek as well as the depth between the creek elevation and the road elevation required not only a tall structure, but also stepped pedestal wall foundations. For these reasons, Taylor Morrison, along with the project's engineer, Pacific Community Design, decided that a 42'-6" span x 21'-3" rise BridgeCor® Structural Plate, 60' in length, was the best solution.

The depth previously mentioned made it difficult to assemble the structure on-site because equipment was unable to reach the underside of the BridgeCor structure. BDZE Construction crews used the technique of preassembling the BridgeCor rings adjacent to the site and then made the inter ring connections using innovative tools they developed specifically for this project .

With the project being completed in just two months, the BridgeCor product was a great solution for the site, and Taylor Morrison and Pacific Community Design were pleased with the outcome.
