This impressive triple-cell CON/SPAN® bridge structure located in the resort town of Beulah, Michigan, features a form-liner façade, which was hand-stained to mimic the Lake Superior sandstone that is indigenous to the area. Pedestals of unequal heights were specified to accommodate the changes in elevation across the bridge.

Each span can accommodate two 12-foot lanes while providing a 10-foot inside shoulder and a 12-foot outside shoulder, which is required by AASHTO. Two different stone patterns appear on the finished structure. A random cut stone is featured on the pedestal walls, and rustic ashlar stone highlights the headwalls. All exposed concrete was stained to give the new CON/SPAN an old look that fits in with its surroundings.
