The new Sandhills Prairie Park, located on the north side of the Stapleton Community in Denver, Colorado, provides recreational space while also serving the stormwater management needs of the community. A pedestrian underpass was needed under Central Park Boulevard to connect the park to homes and Northfield High School.

As the best trail solution, a 28' x 11' CON/SPAN® B-Series Bridge System, 134' in length, was selected for its cost effectiveness and quick installation. The system also included two precast headwalls and four precast wingwalls, with all of the precast components installed via crane in just two days.

Artwork, titled Drift Inversion, was created by artist David Franklin and installed inside the structure. The sculpture consists of 258 metal profiles painted yellow and suspended throughout the length of the structure. The overall shape of the artwork mimics the look of the sand dunes that covered the area before it was developed. Park Creek Metropolitan District awarded a $175,000 commission for the artwork, with funds procured from the Denver Urban Renewal Authority.
