This CON/SPAN^® roadway overpass marks the first of many three-sided structures for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The precast option offered a faster and more economical solution than conventional construction.

“Everybody felt it went well, and we got the hydraulic opening needed within the right-of-way we had purchased,” said John Pangallo, INDOT hydraulic engineer. “The cost was less than the triple-cell box culvert or conventional bridge, and the aesthetics of the arch-box shape were a bonus for everyone.”
