Technical Description:
The consultant used the CON/SPAN® system as an underground storage tank for water retention. Three vaulted tanks were built to store fire sprinkler runoff from the supermarket facility, which could contaminate groundwater with chemicals.
Built on concrete slab foundations, the vaults were made water-tight with joint sealant. Standard to the CON/SPAN® system, the joints were filled with butyl rope and covered with a 9-inch rubber joint sealant to create a water-tight structure.
