Contractor:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers worked with Contech, the provider of CON/SPAN® Bridge Systems, to develop a solution for an Ohio River overflow structure at Mill Creek Road. The structure provides both a new road and a pedestrian greenways trail.

The precast option offered a faster, more economical solution than conventional construction. The lighting pilasters were precast and delivered the same day as the structure, providing a quick installation. To accommodate the aesthetic design requirements, reliefs were cast into the precast end treatments to give the appearance of large, stacked concrete blocks.
