Technical Description:
The Grieco Automotive Group built the new Delray Chevrolet’s facility, a two story, 30,800 square foot, full service automobile dealership in Delray Beach, Florida.
Being an auto dealership, maximizing land space for vehicle inventory was the primary factor in location the stormwater detention system underground.
This site was in an elevated location with an uncharacteristically high depth to the water table. This allowed for a large 108-inch diameter storage system that provides 87,157 cubic feet of storage.
Because of site constraints, the storage was split between two systems hydraulically connected with a 15” conveyance pipe. The first system consists of eight barrels and the second system four barrels. The large diameter of the overall design minimized footprint size and contributed to very cost efficient material and installation costs.
Contech representatives attended preconstruction conferences and were onsite during installation to ensure proper and fast installation. Installation time was approximately one week.
