U.S. Department of Agriculture

Ahern Associates

September 15, 1997

This value engineering project was proposed by the contractor in lieu of multiple-cell box culverts. The proposal offered savings to the owner and a clear span that reduces ongoing maintenance costs due to debris build-up at the common walls of multiple-cell box culverts. The total length of the crossing exceeded 2,400 feet. The U.S. Department of Agriculture obtained Army Corps permits to realign the stream for this project.
