Technical Description:
A total of four CON/SPAN® structures from Contech Construction Inc. were installed in Jackson Park off South Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois. These projects required extensive research to ensure that the new structures would accommodate heavy highway, pedestrian and bicycle traffic while also maintaining the historical significance of the park.
This specific 48’ span CON/SPAN® pedestrian tunnel in the park includes embedded conduit and lighting, a rubbed interior surface and a tolerance that was half of the PCI standard.
