Technical Description:
The Adelsheim project involved the creation of an underground structure to hold barrels for aging up to 30,000 cases of wine. In addition to the construction of a parking lot above the vault, walls on top of each exterior CON/SPAN® leg allow for the construction of adjacent buildings.
The two-day installation required forty 20-foot span x 10- foot rise units extending 320 feet in length. The engineers designed four side-by-side vaults split into eight separate chambers, which enables independent temperature and humidity control within each chamber. Eight headwalls complete the underground structure. The parking lot was constructed above 4 feet of cover.
