Setting New Standards in Stormwater Filtration

The Jellyfish Filter is an engineered Stormwater quality treatment technology featuring pretreatment and membrane filtration in a compact stand-alone treatment system that removes a high level and wide variety of Stormwater pollutants.

Setting New Standards in Stormwater Filtration

The Jellyfish Filter is an engineered Stormwater quality treatment technology featuring pretreatment and self –cleaning membrane filtration in a compact stand-alone treatment system.  The Jellyfish Filter provides pretreatment, membrane filtration, and has numerous agency approvals.

Pretreatment
  • Separation skirt traps oil, trash and debris outside the filtration zone
  • Sand size particles settle below the cartridges in the
    sump.
Filtration
  • Pleated tentacles provide an effective removal of fine sand and silt size particles
  • Removes a high percentage of particulate bound pollutants including nutrients, metals, and hydrocarbons
  • High design treatment flow rate per cartridge (up to 80 gpm (5 L/s))
  • High surface area membranes ensure long-lasting treatment
Extended Filter Life
  • During filtration, vibrational pulses dislodge sediment from the membrane surfaces
  • After every storm peak, filtered water back-washes membrane filtration tentacles
  • Sediment is continuously removed from the tentacles by gravity
Approvals
  • New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology (NJCAT) – Field Performance Verification per TARP Tier II Protocol
  • New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) - Certification
  • Washington State Department of Ecology (TAPE-CULD)
  • Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)
  • Ontario Ministry of Environment - New Environmental Technology Evaluation (NETE) - Certification
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality  (TCEQ)

Filtration Systems for Water Quality

Filter for Water QualityThe Stormwater Management StormFilter, Jellyfish Filter, and MFS systems provide the highest level of treatment and meet the most stringent regulatory requirements. These low maintenance systems combine pretreatment and filtration, and are able to target site-specific pollutants to meet your water quality goals. Our field-proven products have earned hundreds of standalone BMP approvals from regulatory agencies nationwide.

Filtration for LID Designs

StormFilter for LIDThe Stormwater Management StormFilter, Jellyfish Filter, and MFS systems can be easily configured as decentralized, small scale inlets, including catch basin, curb inlet and manhole systems to meet LID treatment requirements. The systems provide high removal efficiency for primary pollutants of concern.

Filtration for Removing Pollutants Prior to Discharge

StormFilter Inlet ProtectionMedia filtration systems - like our StormFilter, Jellyfish Filter, and MFS systems are able to remove the most challenging pollutants from stormwater, including total phosphorus, soluble metals, oil, and very fine particles (down to 15 microns). Available in a variety of configurations (vault, manhole, catch basin, high flow and volume), these systems can be engineered to treat a wide range of flows within your drainage system and capture pollutants prior to discharge off-site.

Filtration for Industrial Sites

StormFilter Inlet ProtectionUse the StormFilter, Jellyfish Filter, and MFS systems to target fine solids, dissolved metals and oil and grease from stormwater runoff at a variety of industrial sites. These systems can effectively remove zinc and airborne particulates from metal roofing, dissolved cooper and other metals leaching from condenser tubing, and paint from surface preparation and painting, to name just a few. We provide the reliability and flexibility you need to meet environmental permit requirements.

SS Credit 6.2 – Stormwater Quality Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption and pollution of natural water flows by managing stormwater runoff.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Filtration - Jellyfish Filter
  • The Jellyfish Filter is an engineered stormwater quality treatment technology featuring pretreatment and membrane filtration in a compact stand-alone treatment system that removes a high level and wide variety of Stormwater pollutants.
TARP Field Test Performance:
  • TSS 89%
  • TP 60%
  • Metals > 50%
  • Trash 100%
  • Turbidity < 15NTU

WE Credit 1 – Water Efficient Landscaping, 2-4 Points

Intent – Limit or eliminate the use of potable water or other natural surface or subsurface water resources available on or near the project site for landscape irrigation. Reduce by 50% (2 points) or eliminate (4 points).

Potential contribution: Contech Stormwater Treatment Systems
  • Pretreat rainwater to remove pollutants with treatment systems.

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: Contech Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • Pretreat rainwater for applications such as toilet flushing.

MR Credit 4 – Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

Potential Contributions: Contech Concrete Structures
  • Many Contech vendors use recycled materials in their concrete mixes
  • Contact your local Contech representative for project specific information.

RP Credit 1 - Regional Priority

Intent - Provide an incentive for the achievement of credits that address geographically-specific environmental priorities.
