Subsurface Infiltration and FiltrationInfiltration StormFilter

Infiltration StormFilter

Infiltration and Treatment in One Structure

Because the Infiltration StormFilter provides a very high level of stormwater treatment prior to infiltration, you will get the benefit of both in one easy to install structure. Available in a precast manhole top section that is designed to be stacked on dry well infiltration risers, this unit arrives fully assembled and ready to install, including an integrated concrete deck for the StormFilter cartridges.

Existing infiltration wells (also known as injection wells or dry wells) can also be easily retrofitted to incorporate the StormFilter treatment technology. Retrofits are installed in three easy steps.

Not only does the inclusion of treatment not increase the footprint of your system, the StormFilter cartridges can also control flow into the infiltration well.  Slowing flow improves infiltration capacity.

Benefits of the Infiltration StormFilter:

  • Provides a high level of treatment prior to infiltration
  • Predetermined maintenance intervals
  • Improve drywell infiltration longevity
  • Easily adapts to multiple drainages for a modular design
  • Control flows

Retrofit Installation Benefits:

  • No excavation required
  • Cost effective retrofit
  • Less disruption of traffic
  • Fast installation - just 4-6 hours

Infiltration StormFilter for Subsurface Infiltration and Treatment

Infiltration StormFilterMeet LID requirements and reduce or eliminate runoff with an underground infiltration system, plus provide treatment in the same structure with the Infiltration StormFilter. Small footprint make it ideal for tight sites or sites with crowded utilities. Easily adapts to multiple drainage areas for a modular design.

SS Credit 6.1 – Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

Potential contribution: Infiltration StormFilter
  • Treatment and infiltration in one manhole device

Potential contribution: CONTECH Pretreatment Systems
  • Extend the service life of infiltration and detention system
  • Minimize maintenance
  • Control flow into infiltration systems

SS Credit 6.2 – Stormwater Quality Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption and pollution of natural water flows by managing stormwater runoff.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Filtration - The Stormwater Management StormFilter
  • Complies with the criteria and conforms to accepted protocol for field monitoring set by WA TAPE1 and NJDEP TARP2 for BMP monitoring
1 Guidance for Evaluating Emerging Stormwater Treatment Technologies, Technology Assessment Protocol – Ecology (TAPE), Washington Department of Ecology
2 The Technology Acceptance Reciprocity Partnership Protocol for Stormwater Best Management Practice Demonstrations (TARP), New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)

WE Credit 1 – Water Efficient Landscaping, 2-4 Points

Intent – Limit or eliminate the use of potable water or other natural surface or subsurface water resources available on or near the project site for landscape irrigation. Reduce by 50% (2 points) or eliminate (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Stormwater Treatment Systems
  • Pretreat rainwater to remove pollutants with treatment systems

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • Reuse harvested rainwater for grey water applications such as toilet flushing

MR Credit 4 – Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

Potential Contributions: CONTECH Concrete Structures
  • Many CONTECH vendors use recycled materials in their concrete mixes
  • Contact your local CONTECH representative for project specific information.

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.

Potential Contribution: All CONTECH Products
