Integrated System for Reuse and Runoff Reduction
LID strives to eliminate runoff by reducing impervious area and infiltrating wherever practical. If your site has high groundwater, soils with low permeability, bedrock, or other limiting conditions, infiltration alone may not provide enough runoff reduction to meet regulations. That’s when rainwater harvesting is an important tool to help meet runoff reduction requirements.
With the UrbanGreen Rainwater Harvesting System, you have all the components to build an efficient and effective water re-use or runoff reduction integrated management practice. Our fully integrated system will save you time and money because you’ll get everything you need with one phone call.
Benefits:
- Save time and money with a turn-key system from single provider
- Complete sizing and engineering support simplifies design process
- Easy installation where one supplier is responsible for on-site support
- Flexible systems with many options to meet your site specific needs
- System warranty and ongoing maintenance service is available
- Up to 10 LEED® points possible - 8 for water efficiency and 2 for stormwater quality and quantity control
You provide us:
1. Sources of water (may include):
- Rooftop drainage area
- Surface drainage area
- AC condensation
2. Demand for water re-use (may include):
- Irrigation
- Non-potable interior use

Proven Pollutant Removal
Pretreating stormwater prior to storage protects downstream pumps, filters and fixtures from damage or clogging, and lowers cleaning and maintenance costs by keeping pollutants out of the cistern and mechanical system. It also reduces the amount of organic matter and biological oxygen demand (BOD) in the cistern, decreasing the likelihood of creating anaerobic conditions and associated odors.
Downspout Pretreatment
Collect and treat runoff from rooftops, a major contributor to total runoff in dense developments.
Downspout Pretreatment Options:

Downspout StormFilter
- Effectively removes fine solids, nutrients and metals from roof runoff
- Treats up to 14,000 square feet of rooftop area per dual-cartridge system
Learn more about the StormFilter >>

Downspout CDS
- Captures and retains 100% of floatables
- Bolts to wall for easy installation
- No excavation required

Belowground Pretreatment
For more than 20 years, CONTECH hydrodynamic separators have provided proven and reliable removal of sediment, trash, debris, oil and grease on thousands of sites.
Belowground Pretreatment Options:

CDS
- Captures and retains 100% of floatables
- Self-cleaning screen is the only non-blocking screening technology available
- Provides storage of captured pollutants below screen for unimpeded flow

Vortechs
- Shallow system profile is easy to install, especially on sites with high groundwater or bedrock
- Larch swirl chamber enhances very fine particle removal
