DuroMaxx for Stormwater Detention

DuroMaxx StormwaterDesigned to meet watertight specifications, with wide range of fittings available, DuroMaxx is an excellent choice for stormwater detention. Lightweight and easy to handle, it is easily transported and assembled on site. Available in diameters from 30” to 120”, the larger diameters maximize savings on per gallon storage cost.


DuroMaxx for Stormwater Infiltration

DuroMaxx InfiltrationDuroMaxx is available fully perforated so it can be used in subsurface infiltration application.  Installed underground, you can maximize land available for development or retain green area in a low impact development (LID) design. Make biorention practical for sites with marginal soils by installing perforated DuroMaxx below bioretention cells. Allows you to reduce the footprint and depth.

Rainwater Harvesting for LID Designs

DuroMaxx Rainwater HarvestingDuroMaxx’s steel reinforced bell and spigot achieves a level of watertight (WT) joint performance that sets it apart from conventional pipe products and makes it a optimal choice for storing stormwater for re-use on-site.


DuroMaxx for Combined Sewer Overflow

DuroMaxx CSOMany communities are turning towards solutions such as combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage. DuroMaxx Steel Reinforced Polyethylene (SRPE) can help provide storage via underground storage tanks. These vessels are both durable and water tight, providing a cost-effective way to handle this critical problem. With diameters of up to 120" and flexible design configurations combined with its watertight joints, DuroMaxx is an ideal solution.

SS Credit 3 – Brownfield Redevelopment, 1 Point

Intent – Rehabilitate damaged sites where development is complicated by environmental contamination and reduce pressure on undeveloped land.

Potential Contribution: Stormwater Detention and Conveyance Products
  • Contain runoff without leakage into contaminated soils or groundwater
  • Several options available for watertight conveyance and storage of water

SS Credit 5.1 – Site Development, Protect or Restore Habitat, 1 Point

Intent – Conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Detention and Infiltration Systems
  • Store, recharge and infiltrate stormwater belowgrade
  • Provide additional opportunity for green space

SS Credit 6.1 – Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

Potential contribution: CONTECH Detention Systems
  • Reduce post-development peak discharge rates

WE Credit 1 – Water Efficient Landscaping, 2-4 Points

Intent – Limit or eliminate the use of potable water or other natural surface or subsurface water resources available on or near the project site for landscape irrigation. Reduce by 50% (2 points) or eliminate (4 points).

  • Create water efficient landscaping by harvesting rainwater for re-use
  • Store water belowgrade or above ground using pipe or structures

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: Contech Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • Pretreat rainwater for oil applications such as toilet flushing.

MR Credit 4 – Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

  • Steel reinforcing ribs have 50-80% recycled content by weight

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.
