CON/STORM Detention and Infiltration

CON/STORM™ Detention and InfiltrationInnovative Lightweight Concrete Arch Solution

CON/STORM is a modular precast system designed to provide economic concrete below-grade detention and infiltration. Most commonly used on sites where depth from finished grade to storm sewer outlet elevation is less than 10 feet, but also utilized for high cover situations

Innovative Lightweight Concrete Arch Solution

CON/STORMCON/STORM™ is a modular precast system designed to provide economic concrete below-grade detention and infiltration. Most commonly used on sites where depth from finished grade to storm sewer outlet elevation is less than 10 feet, but also utilized for high cover situations

Here's what you'll get with CON/STORM:

High Durability and Structural Integrity

  • Designed for HS 20-44 and HS 25-44 loading with as little as 1’-0” of cover to bottom of flexible pavement
  • Manufactured from precast concrete in quality controlled environment – Superior quality over cast-in-place

High Strength Steel Reinforcing

  • Each element of the system weighs 2.65 tons or less
  • Designed to minimize freight costs
  • Can be set into place without heavy equipment

Foundation Versatility

  • Base Slab - Ideal solution when creating a water-tight system or when dealing with high water table issues or sub grade soils sensitive to water infiltration
  • Strip Foundations - Construction of cast-in-place strip foundations beneath the unit legs and endwalls allows for a large open area in the center of each cell, which can be filled with a crushed stone or granular material to allow for infiltration
  • Pedestal Wall Foundation - Create additional vertical rise through the use of a cast-in-place stem wall allows for the most storage in the smallest possible footprint

Precast Systems for Stormwater Detention

Precast Stormwater DetentionOur CON/SPANand CON/STORM concrete stormwater detention solutions provide the versatility to accommodate any footprint need. The patented 3-sided arch structure is installed on a precast continuous foundation ensuring structural integrity and eliminating differential settlement.

Precast Systems for Stormwater Infiltration

Con/Storm with Strip FootingsOur CON/SPAN and CON/STORM concrete stormwater detention solutions can be installed on strip footings to allow water to percolate into the soil for infiltration applications.

SS Credit 3 – Brownfield Redevelopment, 1 Point

Intent – Rehabilitate damaged sites where development is complicated by environmental contamination and reduce pressure on undeveloped land.

Potential Contribution: Stormwater Detention and Conveyance Products
  • Contain runoff without leakage into contaminated soils or groundwater
  • Several options available for watertight conveyance and storage of water

SS Credit 5.1 – Site Development, Protect or Restore Habitat, 1 Point

Intent – Conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Detention and Infiltration Systems
  • Store, recharge and infiltrate stormwater belowgrade
  • Provide additional opportunity for green space

SS Credit 6.1 – Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

Potential contribution: CONTECH Detention Systems
  • Reduce post-development peak discharge rates

WE Credit 1 – Water Efficient Landscaping, 2-4 Points

Intent – Limit or eliminate the use of potable water or other natural surface or subsurface water resources available on or near the project site for landscape irrigation. Reduce by 50% (2 points) or eliminate (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Detention Systems
  • Create water efficient landscaping by harvesting rainwater for re-use
  • Store water belowgrade or above ground using pipe or structures

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • Reuse harvested rainwater for grey water applications such as toilet flushing

MR Credit 4 – Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

Potential Contributions: CONTECH Concrete Structures
  • Many CONTECH vendors use recycled materials in their concrete mixes
  • Contact your local CONTECH representative for project specific information.

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.

Potential Contribution: All CONTECH Products
  • 40 manufacturing facilities nationwide Contact your local representative to find out if your project location falls within our reach
