In recent years, the use of thermoplastic pipe for stormwater drainage systems has gained wide acceptance based upon performance and economic advantages when contrasted with more conventional drainage pipe materials

For Sanitary:

A-2000 PVC Pipe represents the leading edge in sanitary sewer pipe technology with an impressive record of field-proven performance. The latest in technology and engineering design has been coupled with time-proven materials and construction practices to increase overall system performance while offering a more cost-effective solution. With millions of feet successfully installed, A-2000’s superior strength, joint tightness and overall quality have made it a standard in the industry. More importantly, A-2000 has proven itself in a variety of applications including sanitary sewer applications, storm sewers and subdrainage systems.  A-2000 is a cost effective alternative to Polypropylene, SDR35, Ductile Iron, RCP and Glass Fiber Reinforced Pipe products.

For Drainage:

Get the advantages of A-2000 PVC drainage pipe without the limitations of AASHTO M294 HDPE corrugated plastic pipe or reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). A-2000 PVC compound provides material stiffness up to six times greater than HDPE drainage pipe materials and A-2000 pipe, unlike HDPE plastic drainage pipe, has a minimum of 46 pipe stiffness for all diameters. A-2000 provides sanitary pipe benefits to storm sewer applications that RCP products do not.

A-2000 and D-2000 for Storm Sewers

A-2000 Storm SewerIn recent years, the use of thermoplastic pipe for stormwater drainage systems has gained wide acceptance—based upon performance and economic advantages when contrasted with more conventional drainage pipe materials. However, when it comes to performance, not all thermoplastic storm sewer pipes are equal. There are distinct differences between A-2000 and D-2000 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) drainage pipes in comparison with other drainage pipes that can affect overall pipe system performance.

A-2000 for Irrigation

A-2000 Irrigation When compared to other thermoplastic pipes on the market, A-2000 stands up to the test. In fact, it comes out on top. With 15 psi-rated joints it can be utilized in low pressure head water conveyance pipelines.

CMP and PVC Pipe for Pipe Reline

Pipe RelineLining inadequate or failing structures with corrugated metal material or plastic pipe uses little of the available area, thereby preserving the maximum amount of the original opening. Due to the hydraulic efficiency of CONTECH products, often a smaller structure provides the same hydraulic capacity as the original because of the low Manning “n” factors of A-2000 and A2 Liner PVC pipes and HEL-COR and ULTRA FLO CMP pipes. Existing pipes and arches are generally lined with structures of the same shape, though slightly smaller in size. Rectangular openings can be lined with round, elliptical or pipe arch structures. Corrugated metal structures can fit almost any existing shape.

CMP and PVC Pipe for Rehabilitating Storm, Sanitary Sewers and Small Culverts

Pipe RehabilitationReline drainage structures with hydraulically efficient corrugated steel, aluminum or PVC pipe. ULTRA FLO and HEL-COR are CMP Pipes available in standard diameters through 120” and 144" respectively. Special diameters are also available in both products. The PVC pipe systems, A-2000 and A2 Liner Pipe—used for both drainage structures and sanitary sewers—are available through 36” diameter.

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.
